Today AVATAR (Avalanche Asia Star Fund), an investment company focused on crypto and blockchains, announced the next Avalanche Hackathon focused on the Asian market. The event starts on February 1, organised by Avalanche and Dorahacks with the aim of supporting developers and early-stage projects.
Participants will have to develop apps for the Avalanche network, within the following sectors:
- Defi
- Metaverse
- NFT
- Gamefi
- Infra & Tooling
- Web3
The incentive for projects to participate consists of prizes worth a total of $5,000,000, funded by various VCs (including Blizzard) and various industry participants.
The deadlines for participating in the event are as follows:
- Registration period: from Jan. 26, 2022
- Submission period: Feb 1, 2022 – March 31, 2022
- Judging period: April 1, 2022 – April 7, 2022
- Winners Announced: April 9, 2022 – April 15, 2022
- Final BUIDLers’ Day: April 15, 2022
The 10 winning projects will share the majority of the final prize money, which will be distributed according to the decisions of a judging panel composed of major industry players. Also, more than $500,000 will be given to projects through a quadratic funding platform by DoraHacks website, where the community gets to decide who gets funded with their votes.
